Surprised? Me too. Here’s the deal, The Seattle Weekly is owned by the Village Voice. Ironically, they are running a story about “junk science” related to statistics about child sex trafficking and child prostitution in the US.
Anyway, the Village Voice runs BackPage.com which is where you can find yourself a young woman to hire for sex. By “young” I mean a teenager. They post ads here to find Johns to support their pimps.
It’s easy to do – post these ads – and the Village Voice claims they can’t control what gets posted. We all know this is BS. They can control it, but don’t want to because of the massive amount of money being made on these girls’ backs.
Right now, BackPage.com’s personal’s section is tagged as “under review” so I’m thinking people are speaking out about providing this service.
Add your voice. Seattle Weekly Letter to the Editor Put “Child Prostitution Ads – BackPage.com in the subject line.
Wondering how a girl gets recruited?
Here’s the deal – girls run away from home, girls from “good” families, like yours. They are on the streets, alone and afraid and this cute, charismatic man (usually within 48 hours) picks her up, tells her she’s beautiful and he’ll take care of her. These guys troll malls too.
She’s happy to be “rescued” and he turns her into a prostitute. Snip-snap, right like that. It’s an incredibly terrifying life, as you can imagine.
