As I was chatting with my spouse, Kerry, about the Poison Porn – Your Boys and Porn talk I did last week with my pal Jo Langford, I mentioned that boys say they want to hear more, more, more from their parents.
Someone short around here was also listening and he piped up and said, “Uh. No they don’t.”
“Really?” I replied, “Say more.”
“Boys NEVER and I mean NEVER want to hear about sex. Ever. They just don’t want to.”
“Hm. Well, that may be true for YOU – but not for every boy. How about if I say ‘some’ or ‘most’ boys?”
He said that would work. And then he said that he never wanted to talk about it, with anyone, even ME! *Gasp*
“Not even Daddy?”
“Nope. No one.”
“Well, you need to know about this stuff, not for right now, but for the future. So you make good decisions and feel ready for sex and romance and all that. If not me or Daddy, then who would you like to hear from?”
“Uh…You, then.”
Amen.
