Howdy!
Do love sex education? Are you a fan of kids? Would you enjoy working with (and wrangling) a direct, snarky, funny sex educator who loves the big picture and loathes the minutia? Let’s chat!
I run a sex education company. I am a speaker, author, podcaster and help parents talk with kids about sexuality. I also teach professionals who work with kids about sexual behavior in children and sexual abuse prevention.. My business is growing and I need an experienced, quick witted, detail-oriented person to be my administrative assistant – either virtually or in person (or both).
Basic job requirements:
- Comfort with difficult topics such as child sexual abuse, description of sexual behaviors, pornography, early sex education for children
- 2 years of experience as a virtual or live administrative assitant
- Proficiency with Constant Contact, Asana, Libsyn, CoSchedule, WordPress, Zoom, Eventbrite, YouTube (for uploading video), FB, TW and more
- 3 hours a week to start, increasing to 5 hours or more
- If you have a full-time job, this is not for you
- If you are employed part-time and can add me to your schedule with no time or energy conflicts, go for it
- You like to problem solve, streamline processes and basically get shit done
- Detail-oriented. I mean seriously detail-oriented. Really really detail oriented
- You truly support my mission to help every child grow up to be a whole, healthy and happy adult
And more things about this position:
- I love a self-starter and self-manager which means you take initiative to work on projects, share ideas with me and communicate regularly
- You instigate communication with me through weekly updates via phone/email
- We have an unbreakable date for our weekly meeting
- You stick to deadlines and if you can’t, you tell me ASAFP
- Ask questions when you are confused or overwhelmed, rather than winging it
- You use and are fluent in the majority of the software and other programs I use
- Good editing skills (Surprise!)
Initial duties (there are more):
- Create and schedule newsletters in Constant Contact
- Post blogs – including Podcast episodes and new or repurposed content
- Upload and schedule new podcasts in Libsyn
Once you have conquered these tasks, you will be assigned more duties such as:
- Posting social media on CoSchedule
- Take charge of scheduling events by direct communication with event planners
- Scheduling webinars and uploading video into my online course
- Ordering handouts
- Ordering books
- Responding to emails
- Managing my schedule
- Organizing my travel
This is not the job for you if:
- You can’t handle serious swearing – fuck is my favorite word
- You have to really work around your kids schedule or your other gig, to fit me into your life
- You need a gentle communication style
- You can’t find the three errrors in this ad
- You think you’ll be triggered by my content
- You don’t like working at a quick pace with occasional emergency changes thrown your way (that may not be real emergencies, but merely my too-quick off the mark style)
Application:
- Include Amy’s Assistant in the Subject Line
- Note the thing I asked you to do
- Attach your resume
That’s most of what I need and if this sound like the best job ever, then send me an email with your resume and any other pertinent information.
Please feel free to share this if you know someone who fits the bill.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Take care,
Amy Lang
