Breasts are the two bumps on a girl or woman’s chest. Men usually don’t have breasts, but sometimes boys will develop some breast-like tissue on their chests as they go through puberty. They usually go away.
Breasts make milk so women can feed their babies. The baby sucks the milk out of her breasts from the nipple.
Breasts and nipples are a private part of girls’ and women’s bodies and no-one but you (if talking to a girl) should touch them.
Most girls start to develop breasts around 10 or 11 years old, some sooner, some later. They may be a little painful as they grow, and one may be larger than the other. This is totally normal.
