CHIRP: Cervix

cervix

The cervix is the opening between the uterus and the vagina. Usually it is closed, but it has to open up really wide when a baby is born. It’s made to do this.

When girls get older around age 21 or so, when they go to the doctor, they will do an examination of the cervix to make sure it’s healthy. This is an important part of women’s health care.
